DIRECTIONS AND ACCESS INFORMATION

Directions: Take the JR train (Yokosuka-SobuLine) to Yokosuka. The meeting is a fifteen to twenty minute walk straight down RT 16. As you leave the station, turn toward your left and go to the water. RT 16 will be on your right. Walk toward the big Diai store which is at the end of Park Verny, and continue past it. You have to go up over an overpass just in front of the Daiei. Do not cross over to the other side of the street, stay on the same side. You will go by the US Navy Base Main Gate and will turn left at Mikasa Park. There is another small gate to the base, just past that as the road veers to the right is the church. See the virtual tour below (including a scenic tour of Park Verny). Although there are many photos of flowers in the park, it is only a five minute walk through!

1. Come out the turnstyle here.

2. A Newdays will be to your left.

3. This will be to your right, but you do not want to go that way.

4. You will see this just as you come out of the station.

5. Go to your left toward the police box.

6. You can see a taxi stand and RT 16 overhead.

7. Go towards this house.

8. The roses were in full bloom when I went!

9. You can see and smell the ocean.

10. Turn to your right and walk straight ahead. Now RT 16 is on your right.

11. You will see these two pillars.

12. Park Verny. It is only a five minute walk through the park.

13. You can walk through the park - just keep going the same direction.

14. You can see the pink Daiei building in the distance.

15. Keep going straight.

16. Getting closer to Daiei.

17. Walk this way.

18. You can see statues to your left.

19. Pass the clock.

20. And the tree.

21. You will see this map of the park.

22. Now you are in this courtyard.

23. Get back on the sidewalk and keep going straight.

24. You will come to this pink restaurant.

25. Go up the stairs.

27. Go straight down the other side, keeping Daiei on your left. Do not cross over the street.

28. You will see a Tsutaya Video store.

29. And a Wendy's.

30. Keep going straight past this building.

31. And this one.

32. You will come to this Koban, or police box. Keep going straight .

33. You need to go up some more stairs to cross the street.

34. And down the other side. Turn left to continue going the same way as before.

36. You will pass a ramen shop.

37. And Toyota. Keep going straight.

38. Cross the street toward the gas station.

39. You will see a sign for Mikasa Park and an archway over the street. Turn left there.

40. You will be here, near the little green car.

41. Just ahead is an entrance to the base with the church to the right.

42. To the left side of the parking lot.

44. The church itself. Look for the people hanging out and maybe smoking! You have found the meeting. Enjoy!
